The Azerbaijani House in Salzburg officially opened on September 21

The ceremony was attended by the heads and employees of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Austria, the Azerbaijani Cultural Centre, as well as by the employees of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Salzburg, Azerbaijanis living in Austria, and representatives of the local community.
Opening remarks were delivered by Rovshan Sadigbeyli, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Austria. He gave detailed information about the Azerbaijani community in Austria, organization of diaspora activities and the works done in this direction. Rovshan Sadigbayli highly appreciated the activity of the Azerbaijani Cultural Centre in Vienna and expressed the hope that the Azerbaijani House in Salzburg would give impetus to the development of relations between the countries.
Michael Heinritz, Honorary Consul of Azerbaijan in the federal provinces of Salzburg, Tyrol and Vorarlberg, expressed his satisfaction with the opening of the Azerbaijani House in the city of Salzburg, called unofficial capital of Austria.
Fuad Muradov, Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora provided information about the activity of the Azerbaijani houses, established in foreign countries.
It was also noted that despite the restrictions imposed because of the coronavirus pandemic, it was possible to organize effective work of the Azerbaijani Houses in accordance with the recommendations and instructions of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev.
Stating that the Azerbaijani House in Salzburg, is the 15th in a row, Muradov added that the number of the Azerbaijani houses is planned to reach 26 by 2024.
It was emphasized that the Coordinating Councils and the Azerbaijani Houses handled their job properly during the Tovuz events and the 44th days Patriotic War. The Azerbaijani houses play the role of a venue for the consolidation of community members.
Later, promo videos reflecting the activity of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora and a trip of the diaspora representatives to Shusha, were demonstrated.
Farid Azizov, the chairman of the Society of the Azerbaijanis in Austria, rendered an account of the woks done and a video, promoting the entire the activity of the society was presented.
Advisor to the Head of the Salzburg Provincial Government Hubert Weinberger with his wife, Namibian Honorary Consul in Salzburg Ingrid Weinberger and Honorary Consul of Latvia in Salzburg Karl Winding attended the event.
Honored Artist Sahib Pashazade (on tar) and Kamran Karimov (on nagara) gave recitals at the opening ceremony. Azerbaijani folk music, dances and mougham compositions were presented to the audience.
