The State Committee on Work with Diaspora, the Azerbaijani Diaspora Youth, the Islamabad Global and Strategic Studies Center (IGSSC) jointly organized an international video conference on "Perspectives for cooperation between Azerbaijani and Pakistani Diaspora youth in promoting the Khojaly genocide at the international level."
Specialists of the organization Dr. Mehmudul Hassan Khan, Dr. Zarmina Baloch, Nasir Zaman, Palvasha Nawaz, Malik Musavvar Hamid, member of the Azerbaijani community in Pakistan Tehram Gizilbash, Khojaly resident Hasan Alakbarov and others attended the event moderated by by Laraib Fatima Hassan, IGSSC Communications and Coordination Manager.
Speaking at the event, Khojaly resident Hasan Alakbarov shared his views on what happened 29 years ago and his life. He said that the terrible night has not been erased from his memory and called on the world community to give a political and legal assessment to the Khojaly genocide.
Dr. Mahmudul Hassan Khan, Dr. Zarmina Baloch, Nasir Zaman, Malik Musavvar Hamid and Palvasha Nawaz spoke at the conference. It was noted that the Khojaly genocide is one of the serious crimes committed not only against the Azerbaijani people, but also against humanity. Even before the Khojaly genocide, Armenia repeatedly pursued a policy of genocide and ethnic cleansing against Azerbaijan, destroying our ancient history and rich culture. However, these initiatives have not been widely condemned by the world community.
It was noted that our countries supported each other in all international forums, showed solidarity in the Karabakh and Kashmir issues, and stressed that the issue of giving a just assessment to the Khojaly genocide at the international level is an important task for the diaspora of both countries.
