A memorial ceremony and a flash mob dedicated to Khojaly were organized in Tbilisi
A commemorative ceremony dedicated to the 29th anniversary of the Khojaly tragedy was held at the initiative of the Mirza Fatali Akhundov Museum of Azerbaijani Culture in Tbilisi.
The event was attended by ambassadors of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Saudi Arabia to Georgia, representatives of the embassies of Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan and the local community.
The commemoration ceremony began with a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the Khojaly genocide.
Opening the event, museum director Leyla Aliyeva said the terrible act of genocide committed by Armenian armed forces against peaceful Azerbaijanis in Khojaly 29 years ago will never be forgotten and will not be erased from the memory of our people.
Turkish Ambassador to Georgia Fatma Jeren Yazgan expressed her condolences to the people and families of the victims of the Khojaly genocide and expressed confidence that justice would soon be restored for the victims of the Khojaly genocide.
Then a documentary film was shown as part of an international awareness campaign "Justice for Khojaly!" and a theatrical stage "Ana Faryadi" prepared by the Tbilisi Azerbaijan State Drama Theater named after Heydar Aliyev in Georgian was presented.
During the event, photos on the Khojaly genocide were exhibited, a booklet about the Khojaly tragedy, protective masks and badges with the slogan "Justice for Khojaly" were distributed.
On the same day, at the initiative of the Azerbaijani Cultural Museum named after Mirza Fatali Akhundov, a flash mob dedicated to the 29th anniversary of the Khojaly tragedy was organized. The main call of the action was "the future wants peace."
