The victims of the Khojaly genocide were commemorated in Florida
An international video conference dedicated to the 29th anniversary of the Khojaly tragedy was organized by Tohfa Eminova, head of the Azerbaijani-American Cultural Association in Florida, and Parvin Muradova, head of the Florida Keys competition project.
The event was attended by former Azerbaijani Ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova, Consul General of Turkey to Miami Burch Jeylan and our compatriots living in various US states.
The video conference began with a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the Khojaly genocide.
Speaking at the event, Elmira Suleymanova, Burch Ceylan and Tohfa Eminova said that on February 26, Azerbaijanis around the world commemorate the 29th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide, one of the darkest pages in our history, a deep pain.
Comparing the Khojaly genocide with the most horrific massacres of the 20th century, Srebrenica and Songmi, the speakers gave detailed information about the brutal crimes committed by the Armenian armed forces against peaceful Azerbaijanis. It was noted that like all diaspora organizations operating abroad, diaspora organizations in the United States will never forget the tragedies caused to our people by Armenian executioners, including the Khojaly genocide. Statements and letters will be sent to international organizations and US government agencies to ensure that those who planned and carried out this heinous crime are brought to justice.
The event ended with the presentation of classical music performed by Parvin Muradova, the head of the Florida Keys competition project, and the contestants.
