The martyrs of January 20 were commemorated in Toronto

A memorial event dedicated to the 31st anniversary of the January 20 tragedy was organized by the Azerbaijan-Canada Multicultural Center in Toronto.
The event held in online format was attended by artists from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Iran, Canada and the United States.
The event began with the National Anthem of Azerbaijan, the demonstration of videos reflecting the tragedy of January 20 and the Patriotic War.
The participants recalled that 31 years ago, on the night of January 19-20, 1990, special punitive units of the Soviet army entered Baku, committed atrocities against civilians and killed innocent people. They strongly condemned the crimes of the USSR leadership, led by Mikhail Gorbachev, against the Azerbaijani people, noting that the perpetrators have not yet been brought to justice.
