The martyrs of January 20 were commemorated at the Sultan Eyyub Mosque in New York

A commemoration ceremony dedicated to the 31st anniversary of the January 20 tragedy was held at the initiative of the Azerbaijan-New York Association in the United States. Representatives of the Azerbaijani community coming together at the Sultan Eyyub Mosque in New York observed a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs of January 20. It was noted at the ceremony that as a result of the negligent policy of the USSR leadership, troops were sent to Baku, a bloody war crime was committed against Azerbaijanis protesting peacefully against unilateral and biased policies and demanding justice, freedom and independence.
The event ended with recitation of prayers for the souls of our martyrs.
