An event was held in Miami, Florida on the occasion of December 31 - the Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis and the Victory Day of our people.
The event organized with the support of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, with the organization of Azerbaijani community in Florida and with the participation of Azerbaijani-American Cultural Association was attended by about 80 Azerbaijanis and Consul General of Turkey to Miami Burch Jeylan.
The event began with a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs of the Patriotic War and the National Anthem of Azerbaijan.
Speaking at the event, Burch Jeylan recalled the slogan of prominent statesman Heydar Aliyev "One nation, two states" and congratulated the World Azerbaijanis on the bright Victory and Solidarity Day. He said that Karabakh has always belonged to Azerbaijan, the state flags of Azerbaijan and Turkey were waved in the building of the Consulate General of Turkey in Miami, and this union will last forever.
The community members told the guests about the joy of Karabakh brought to the people by the President of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, and the bravery of the Azerbaijani army. In the artistic part of the event, musicians invited from Minnesota Zaur Jalilov and Leyla Jalilova sang songs glorifying Azerbaijan. The event featured the “Yalli” dance, a symbol of unity and solidarity.
