Larisa Svechina, Vice Mayor of Sunny Isles Beach, Miami-Dade, Florida, Dana Goldman and Alex Lama, city commissioners congratulated our compatriots living in the United States and around the world on December 31 - the Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis.
In a congratulatory letter addressed to the Azerbaijani community, Larisa Svechina said she was very pleased with Azerbaijan's recent success in protecting its sovereignty and protecting its people.
"Azerbaijani people have always been dear to me and my family. As a Jewish immigrant who left the Soviet Union, saw discrimination, and witnessed Azerbaijan's independence from the Soviet Union in 1991, I feel very close to Azerbaijan. My late father was very close to the Azerbaijani people in the Soviet Union. If he knew there was a prosperous Azerbaijani community in Florida, he would be just as happy as I was. Given our common history and traditions, it is very important that former Soviet immigrants support Azerbaijan. It is important that all American people stand in solidarity with Azerbaijan's sovereignty. "
In his letter, commissioner Alex Lama said that he had always followed the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict with concern and sorrow, but was glad to hear the news of a peace agreement: I express my deepest condolences to the proud and beautiful Azerbaijani community for the loss of their sons and daughters during this conflict. I also congratulate you on the establishment of peace. "
Commissioner Dana Goldman also noted that this holiday played an important role in establishing relations with Azerbaijanis living in different countries, creating unity and solidarity among them.
The letters wish the people of Azerbaijan and Azerbaijanis all over the world to live in eternal peace, joy and prosperity.
