Azerbaijani youth living in Europe appealed to the parliament

The Association of Young Azerbaijani Professionals in Europe (AYAPE) has sent a letter to more than 250 members of parliament, including the delegation of the European Parliament for the South Caucasus, the Committee on Foreign Affairs and members of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly. The letter protested against the initiative of the three members of the European Parliament to establish friendly parliamentary group with Nagorno-Karabakh.
Noting that the issue is disappointing in terms of ensuring lasting peace in the region, it is noted that the mentioned initiative contradicts international law, as well as the position of the UN and the European Union (EU) on the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan. It was noted that this initiative hinders the perspectives for peace and peaceful coexistence between the Armenian and Azerbaijani communities of Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as the economic development of this important region located in the EU neighborhood.
The letter expressed hope that the European Parliament and the European People's Party would support peace and reconciliation in the region going against hostility and revenge.
